Stuff I Shouldn't

Last night as I was getting Owen ready for bed I chatted with Ivan who had already brushed his teeth and used the bathroom. He was sitting at the top of the ladder of his bunk bed and patiently waited for his brother to finish up so we could pray together and go to bed. Seemingly out of the blue he confessed to me, "Mommy, I like to eat stuff I shouldn't eat."

I looked at him with sympathy, completely understanding the desire for cookies or Cheetos or candy of some kind I responded, "Me too."

He looked at me with surprise, so pleased that I dealt with the same temptation. He raised his eyebrows and with brightened eyes he asked, "You like to eat boogers too?"

That is too funny!! When Libby was younger she use to eat her boogers too... One day she came to me with a gross brownish booger on her finger and wanted me to take care of it. I asked her (with sarcasm, of course) why she just didn't eat it since she was always eating them! She looked at me very seriously and said "I only eat the green ones" Aaahhh so many booger stories, so little time!:)

Hey Mary! Christy sent me a link to Ivan's blog and said that I just had to read the latest post. Needless to say, I laughed out loud and almost sprayed my cereal milk through my nose! I can't wait to have these types of conversations with baby Nolan in a few years. :)

Amber - Yes, I laughed...not in a mocking way...but I couldn't help but chuckle.

Kem - I did assure him that I don't have a any particular trouble refraining from eating my boogers. Ice-cream is my weakness.

Grandma - I figured you'd have more fun with it if I sent it to your work address. :)

Mia - That is TOO funny. We'll have to compile a book of booger stories someday. You can edit to fulfill your need for "much good grammar."

Mindy - So glad you checked in. I keep up with Christy's blog and was delighted to hear about little Nolan coming to join the family. I am sure that with all the creativity and cleverness in his genetics he'll be the source of many humorous conversations.

Thank God!!! It's so nice to hear that other nice, God-fearing parents have also spawned booger-eaters & it wasn't just us!!!!!

Thanks for the laugh! And the encouragement!!!
