Memorial Day Service

Our church is an unusual one. In most churches, the two biggest services of the year are Easter and Christmas. At ours, they are Memorial Day and 4th of July. It's not that we don't have big services for the typical Christian holidays - we do. But our pastor is very patriotic, and belives that the church needs to re-claim its role as the leading political force in this country. One of the largest US flags in the state of Tennessee is in front of our church, and we always have a big service to honor our veterans and celebrate our freedom.

Today, we had as our guest speaker Brigadier General Robinson Risner, who fought in Korea and Vietnam, was a POW in Vietnam for over 7 years, has statues in his honor at military bases and museums, and has a major award named after him, which is given to the top fighter pilot in the Air Force each year. Needless to say, he had some very interesting stories.
