The Gaylord Texan

The view from the balcony off my hotel roomThe flight was great. I wish I had my camera in my carry-on bag, because the view of Nashville as we took off was incredible. It was a very clear day, and visibility was over 10 miles. Maybe I can catch a shot on the way back. Fortunately, I had an MP3 player to listen to, because a very obnoxious woman a couple of rows back would not shut up the entire flight. My co-workers, who did not have earphones, were about to go crazy.

The hotel is very nice, but it's not nearly as big as the one in Nashville. There is a restaraunt / sports bar in the middle of the hotel that has huge video screens (I know where I will be watching the football games this weekend). I have wireless internet access in my room and on the balcony, but the signal is weak. I think it's from an access point in the atrium that isn't really intended to reach the rooms (there are wired ports in the rooms).

Tonight I'm going to go eat with one of my co-workers and some of his family who live nearby.

Random thoughts and experiences from a husband / father / teacher / computer guy living in the heart of God's Country (called "Nashville" on most maps).
