The Fun Never Ends

Mary and Owen (along with Kristy and Clay) made it back safely last night. They were later than expected, mainly due to a late start, and they were very tired. Owen went straight to bed and we were not far behind him.

This week is already full of activities. Wednesday is church and Thursday is our monthly leadership dinner at church. Tonight I have to make a choice - several people are going up to Bobby & Becky's house to watch Tim & Kristy's video from the tsunami (they were in Thailand, staying on the beach when it hit - you can read more about it here). While I very much want to see their video and hear more of the stories, I haven't spent any significant time with Owen in over a week. We've been with people (either at our house or theirs) for just about every evening this month and I would like to just hang out at the house a little and enjoy my son. I feel like he's going to forget how much fun it is to play with his dad. I may end up going anyway and just plan to set aside plenty of time this weekend, but the way things have been going lately, something is bound to come up on Friday and/or Saturday that is even more important or difficult to turn down than tonight. So... I don't know.

Work is going pretty well so far this week - I've been very productive today. I have a semi-major project coming to a finish next week, and it looks like I'm going to have to work a little on Memorial Day weekend to get it released. I hate to have to do that, but the weekends following are not good for various reasons, and we can't afford to put it off any longer. Hopefully, though, it will only be about a half-day's work.

This Sunday, I have tickets to the last Kats game of the season. They are out of the playoff hunt, but hopefully will play hard to get one last win at the end of the season. This is the first year for this version of the Kats (the previous team moved to Atlanta and changed their name), and they did poorly the first half of the season, but came back to win 6 straight and almost made the playoffs. Maybe next year they'll do even better.
