Camera Woes

My digital camera is messed up. Sometime in the last week or so, the lens has gotten skewed somehow, and when you use the viewfinder to take a picture, what you see is not quite what you get (it seems to still work properly if you use the LCD screen, but I'm a look-through-the-little-window guy). Several of the pictures I have taken of Ivan over the past few days have cut off the top of his head because of this.

The main problem with this is that it's almost Christmas, we have a new child, family is coming from out of town, and there will be a great need to take pictures. This might just be the excuse I need to purchase the much-desired Digital Rebel XT, but I'm still not sure I should spend the money on that (especially connsidering that we just spent a week in the hospital with our newborn, and I'm sure that's not going to be free). If Dell runs a special on it again, though, I may just have to take the plunge and buy it.

DadIt would seem to me that pictures are important enough that a look-through-the-little-window guy could make the minor adjustment of becoming a look-through-the-LCD-screen guy in order to get Granddaddy and Grandma some more pictures on the web. We certainly want to be able to recognize Ivan when we see him at Christmas.

EricOh, come on Kris just use this minor inconvenience as the excuse you need to buy that Rebel.

TisraWow! Look at the guilt your Dad is heaping upon you. :-) I'd have to agree, though- more pictures! And, unlike my husband, I am not an enabler. (but we do love our Rebel)

Well, we have still been taking pictures, but I don't have any of the recent ones with me (I'm at work today), so I'll have to post more this weekend.

JoyceWell, since I am a picture-taking kind of girl, I'm inclined to encourage you to purchase that gem. For some reason, I get a mental picture of the much coveted
Red Ryder rifle from "A Christmas Story" when think of your desire for this camera.
Maybe you could trade your old camera in or sell it and re-coup some of the cost?
I guess I am an enabler.....
