The Eye of Kris

I'm back at work today. I was originally going to take the whole week off, but I decided to try to conserve vacation days so that I can still take time off when my parents are here for Christmas. Plus, this will give Mary a single day at home alone with the two boys before the weekend, instead of having to jump into a full week (I'm really not sure if that will be a help or not, but it makes me feel better to think that it will). Also, I can spend today playing catch-up on all that I've missed over the past week and a half, and be ready to actually get stuff done on Monday.

It just hit me last night that we are only about 2 weeks away from Christmas. I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year, but with all that's happened over the last two weeks, we haven't gotten much done in preparation. Yesterday, I did a little shopping while the rest of the family took naps. I didn't get it all done, but I got most of Owen's gifts taken care of, along with a couple of other people. We don't have a tree yet or any decorations put up, but maybe this weekend we'll get to do some of that.
