This afternoon, I'm off to the Boston area again to visit the corporate office and attend some meetings. I've been up there once already since the close of the acquisition, and I don't really have a strong feeling of like or dislike about going. I like traveling, but don't really like being away from the family. Fortunately, this time, Mary decided to go to Michigan for the week since I'm going to be gone for several days anyway, so that makes it easier to leave since it's just an empty house.
Speaking of traveling, I got a really got job offer the other day, but it involves a lot of travel so I don't think I'm going to take it. If I were still single, I would probably love it but I really don't want to be away from Mary and the boys for 4 to 5 days a week. I haven't actually told them "no" yet, but I am leaning against it. I'm not actively looking for another job, but I am definitely entertaining offers right now. Things are still pretty uncertain with the new company, and while I'm not afraid that I might lose my job or anything, I'm just not sure if they are going to find a place and position for me that I will enjoy. For now, though, I'm still hanging around to see what happens.
Last night, I went to the last playoff game for the Predators this season. They lost to the Sharks 2-1, and it was the fourth loss in the series so their season is finished. It was a good game, but the officiating was poor. I'm sure I'll be hearing about that on the radio shows for days (oh, wait - no I wont. I'll be in Boston). Nevertheless, it was fun.
In other sports news, the Titans took quarterback Vince Young in the NFL draft on Saturday. It's looking more and more like our beloved Steve McNair is not going to return - his jerseys are on clearance at the local sports stores. There's talk of him going to Baltimore, which would just strengthen the rivalry between them and the Titans.
The other day, out of the blue, Owen said "Dady, I want to watch a football game". I guess I'll have to see if we can get a NFL Europe game here...
