So...I got home okay but nothing has come to right itself as it should and I'm a little discouraged. No...not helpless or hopeless, just a little disappointed that I haven't done a better job of getting my stuff out of suitcases and having an orderly home to live in.
We got back on a Wednesday and since then we attended a fund raiser dinner for BGM in which my friends impressed me with their ability to be involved when they really have no time to be involved. Tisra's art raised money for children in Haiti and Amber's ability to get medical supplies will benefit so many of those same children once the details are worked out. Alison's monetary gifts and Todd and Christina's willingness to "adopt" a little Haitian girl will do so much. All together it was an exciting and motivating night for all who attended. A clearer picture was painted of what God is doing through Brent and those involved in BGM and almost $60,000 was raised to feed and clothe the hungry, encourage and motivate teenagers, and fulfill the great commission through the gifts and talents of BGM.
Dad watched our boys for us while we were gone and stayed with us until Monday morning. He went to the zoo with us on Friday. Kris didn't go back to work until last Monday and since we had the opportunity to go as a family, we took it and made good use of our day. On Saturday...well, I really don't remember what happened on Saturday, but I know we went to church on Sunday and I had a full week of busy days and nights to enjoy last week.
I was looking forward to going to Tisra's Mamamade Spring Market on Saturday but failed to make it. I had a meeting on Saturday morning that I really couldn't miss and then drove up to Gallatin to a baby shower that afternoon. It was a full day. I'm still hoping to hear good things about Mamamade and trust that all of last year's missing shoppers showed up in droves for this one.
Yesterday was a wonderful day that included a great church service, a nice lunch at home followed by a much needed nap. In the evening we all went to Opry Mills to get shoes. Both Kris and I were successful at finding what we needed and the boys begged for everything they saw and got NOTHING. Poor little guys.
Today we got up and headed to MJCA for a Pre-school screening for Owen. We stopped at the library on the way home and now the two youngest are napping and I'm tempted to make Owen lay down too. He's showing signs of fatigue.
