Limerick Friday

A mussy haired boy named Willy
Had no use for girls who were frilly
He pulled on their braids
And called them old maids
Yet they loved him because girls are silly

Not all girls are silly...just the ones who fall in love with boys like Willy. I went to school with kids like this...didn't you? I never was one to fall for the boys who were actually mean to me...but I did like a few who were mean to everyone but me. I guess it fed my need to be special. Thankfully I got over it...the truth is, those boys would have found a reason to be mean to me eventually and I'm thankful I figured it out before learning the hard way.

Maybe next week I'll limericize my first grade kissing tag experience and the fate of poor Bobby White.

I love memories of elementary school and all the excitement of games we played at recess. I loved diving head first into whatever activity was going on, sometimes literally. I hate that I've gained so much caution and lost so much energy as I've matured. I still see myself running full tilt, but I feel so differently when I actually try it. :)

Tisra FadelyGolly do I know what you mean!!! I want to fun and play with the kids, but all five of us had a scooter race the other day around the cul-de-sac island that made me exhausted! I need to get in shape!

AmyI never liked the boys that pulled hair; they bugged me and I punched them. Yes, I was a tomboy. Chloe doesn't really like it either...I hope she stays that way.
