I have been trying to come up with a skit for our Spring Seminar and running into road blocks along the way. I was able to write one for the Friday night service and I think it will go well. It's about gifts, living in your own calling and not trying to emulate other peoples gifts. It's easy to find yourself wanting to have some of the more visible gifts, but if it's not what you are called to be doing, it won't work well.
Because we are down to the wire, I prayed last night that God would give me an idea quickly or close the door on this one. Almost immediately I started writing about the last straw. How small it seems and how powerful it is. I wrote it as a monologue and it's humorous but not hilarious and serious but not a tear jerker. I hope it's enough. I'm going to read it to Vanessa this morning and see if she likes it.
I wanted to send you over to my sister Becky's blog for a quick look-see. She wrote about some child-hood experiences on my grandparents farm that brought all these warm fuzzies my way. Thought you might enjoy it too.
I'm off to school and then Bible study this morning. I feel energized so I hope this day will reflect that in productivity and maybe even a little fun.
Just realized Ivan still isn't dressed and it's time to head out the door. Better go.
