Last week I was pulling a few things out of the fridge that were on the verge of meeting their sell date and as there was just a little yogurt left in this container I decided to put Aron to work finishing it off. He had a blast and didn't even make too much of a mess. He's getting much better with the spoon and I took a couple dozen pictures of his fun...but I won't make you look at them all. Just the first one.

The blue bird I wrote about in a recent post has been back every morning. He doesn't stay as long though and I suppose he is realizing his fight is futile. Still, I was able to get a picture of him and as the light is bad right there and I am shooting through a window, he was difficult to see. I attempted to adjust the brightness, contrast and intensity a bit on the computer and succeeded in making him more visible but the photo now looks grainy. Forgive the grains and enjoy the bird. He really is pretty.

For several days I have been looking at my ripening bananas and associating them with my undying cookie craving. I decided that surely there is a way to make cookies with bananas and if I'm thinking of it...it's probably already been done. I looked online and did find several banana cookie recipes, but not what I was craving. The spices and flavors all sounded good but I wasn't looking for more than a simple cookie with a bit of banana taste. I finally decided to make up my own banana cookie recipe and the taste was exactly what I was hoping for. I will probably experiment some more but for now, they are pretty good. The texture is a little more fluffy than I like in a cookie, but it's not a muffin or anything, it's definitely a cookie and I am pleased with them.

In current news...we went to Mammoth Cave National Park on Saturday with our Sunday school class. Sorry, no pictures of that. We enjoyed it a lot, but didn't really think about taking the big camera on a long trek. Kris and I actually took separate tours for two reasons. A) I have a sprained foot and I figured I had better stick to the "old lady" tour with fewer steps and fewer miles to traverse. B) We had old ladies with us and as the leaders of the class it's probably best if one of us joins that group. Next time, I plan to take a longer tour though.
Sunday was relaxing, wonderfully enjoyable other than longing to do more than my foot allows, and yesterday...well, I made banana cookies yesterday.
I also realized yesterday that the "Mothers Raising Godly Sons" event that I was so looking forward to, is the same night as the Brent Gambrell Ministries annual fundraiser dinner. I am sort of bummed about that, but I suppose my boys will still be okay, even if I don't get all the best advice.
