Limerick Friday

Agatha Rosemary Grift
had a mind that some thought adrift
She would move things one way
And then change the next day,
every thought was a paradigm shift.

Or...

Simon Jones, a dunce among gents
let little things make him feel tense.
He was bothered one time
by a new paradigm
"so much fuss, for a mere twenty cents."

I was challenged yesterday to write a limerick using the word paradigm. There ya go Lesa...enjoy! Make sure to send this on to Celeste too. :)

Had a great time at the annual Ladies Board Christmas dinner/lunch. We met in Green Hills at the Cheesecake Factory and the meal was delicious, the company was a lot of fun and I still have some red velvet cake cheesecake in the fridge. Breakfast?

Owen has a half day today and I took him to school in his pajamas. They are celebrating Christmas with a "Waking up Christmas Morning" theme. It's very cute and I plan to go back to his class room around 9:30 to bring some treats and join in the fun. I signed up for cinnamon rolls. They aren't working. I wanted to try this recipe I found, but the dough isn't rising. I often have this trouble. I imagine the yeast isn't fresh enough or something. Though it lists the exp. date as Apr. 2010. It's really doing nothing. I've put it in the warmest area I could create in the kitchen and it's still just sitting there. I won't throw it out, but I'm not taking cinnamon rolls that didn't rise. I'll find something else I suppose. Maybe my next post will be about the miraculous discovery I made as to what to do with dough that won't rise. Stay tuned.

ChristyI'm staying tuned! I could always use tips on using yeast dough that doesn't quite work :)

MichelleIs your water the right temperature? If it's too hot it will kill the yeast, and if it's too cold it won't activate it.
I hope your cinnamon rolls see better days ahead.

Lori ZehrI was about to give you the same comment as Michelle on the yeast. If you get the water too hot it's over. Maybe too much flour in the dough as well. When it's too heavy, I don 't think it will rise well. Hope it all works out for you evenutally!
