Limerick Friday

The diet of Teri Lynn Tatters
was betrayed by her own pretty platters
through the week just a tinge
then on weekends she'd binge
She won't lose until every meal matters

Can you tell I'm still dieting?

I'm making progress but it's slow. I don't binge like dear Teri, but I do cheat a little too often. I am still cooking too much. We have a lot of company, so I have reason to cook, but I need to work harder at minimizing the contents of my plate when I cook. It doesn't look like much until I'm half way through and then I'm thinking..."Oh dear...I'm not going to be able to stop eating this, and I'm already full! And I made dessert! Dear God help me!" So I need smaller serving spoons or something. Maybe I'll pull out my old baby spoons. Then there's the issue of left-overs. I have a very hard time throwing food away. I need to work out a deal with the neighbors. If I have food left...you can come and get it. When we don't have company, I do pretty well. Lots of salads and simple things. I really enjoy it much more than I thought I would.

Oh and just to brag on myself a little. I've had Blue Bell ice cream in my freezer for a long time and I've hardly had any. I'm a rock!

As usual, there are tons of things to do, so I'm not going to stay on here long. I spent way too much time writing my distaff blog post yesterday and I need to catch up around the house.

I will quickly add that I stopped at a garage sale this morning on our way home from taking Owen to school and scored another pretty find from the same family I bought the lamp from last year. They are a couple weeks away from moving so they are digging out more things and getting ready to make themselves at home at their beautiful new place. She is such a sweet lady I wish I knew her better. If I were into scrap-booking I would totally plant myself in her classes and events every time. But alas...I am not into scrap-booking. Regardless...here's my little treasure.

Hey...there's me! One of the few times you'll see a picture of myself on my blog. Can you see what else I got at her yard sale? Can you name the items reflected in the bowl that I haven't cleaned up from breakfast? Ooh, a game!

ChristyWhat a cool garage sale treasure! And I'm sure that photo qualifies for the "reflections" photography assignment I had earlier this year :) It's nice to see a photo of you!

AmyAny progress is good progress:) It sounds like you've found something that works for you and that's great!

Hmmm, I see a Star Wars thing...and a shoe horn or a remote control...apparently I'm not very good at this :D

MaryTisra - love you too. :)

Christy - this photo immediately reminded me of the one that went around the internet with the naked man supposedly taking a picture of his highly reflective tea kettle to sell it on ebay. nasty.

Amy - funny. no shoe horns, (maybe the empty butter dish?) but the remote was close. my key remote was laying there.

AmyYep, I bet it was the empty butter dish. Funny how things look in a curved reflection.

A guy really did that? Ewww. Glad I missed that one.

CherylI liked the limerick. The Tatters made me think of Tater tots, speaking of dieting:)
