I spoke with my neighbor this morning to try to allow the kids to play a bit, but schedules weren't working for the morning so I decided to just go all crazy and skip the boy's naps.

"Do you guys want to just come for lunch and they can play after?" I heard myself say. She knows my rigid nap schedule and questioned whether that would work for me. I knew it wouldn't work well, but had already decided it was going to have to be okay.

The boys fought a little more than usual, there have been more tears, but they will survive and they will go to bed early tonight.

I got to chat with my friend, and it was nice to see her face smiling in my kitchen again. It has been too long.
