Cold Front

The littlest one just ran inside and asked me for his hoodie.

It smells like wet leaves outside.

Chili is not out of the question for dinner.

The grass looks greener and the tree trunks look almost black against the gray sky.

I feel safe and adventurous all at the same time.

There are books in piles around the house, especially near the little pools of lamplight.

Someone just asked for a football.

I think I heard my quilt knock on the backside of the armoire door and ask to come out and sit on the couch with me.

I may be stretching it a bit.

I do that this time of year.

I know there's more summer to enjoy.

Today though, a cold front has all of my attention.

AmyIt's going to sound crazy but I'm not enjoying today as much as one would expect. It's possible that I pushed the fall button a little bit too early and I still want to hold on to summer a bit longer. No matter, I'm sure it will be warm enough again to cure me of it soon.

MaryI think you're right Amy, it's exciting to see Fall coming, but I know it's going to warm up again and I sort of like those last bits of warm and sunshine. I think this is just a teaser and I like that too.
