Loud and Helpful
This Owen quote came from the back of the van yesterday and I'm not sure what prompted his observation. I suspect it may have been a comment I may have made about him being loud and that it wasn't helpful to me. I say things like that.
"Mom, loud people can be helpful too. I saw some of those big kids, ya know, the ones that look like parents, and they were being loud. They were with their teacher and she dropped something and one of them picked it up for her. So, that's how I know that loud people can be helpful too."

His tone makes it sound like he was admonishing you for discriminating against loud people. Like disabled people, or little people or something. Completely funny. What's nice, though, is that he was obviously listening to you and processing what you were saying. Hopefully, with time, he will see your point of view and agree with it. As another mommy, I affirm that loud is not helpful. :-) We often say around here, "you don't need to make noise just to make noise". Some day it will sink in.

Owen is so smart! He really thinks and takes his time to reason out what he is told, then he decides who is right - and obviously he needed to teach you something about this subject! He has definitely got the Kelso teaching talent like his dad and grandad!
